Double Cup Winners

A fantastic end to the season saw Thornes Juniors under 8's lift the Charles Rice J.F.L league cup by beating Ossett Albion 5-0 in a very hard fought contest. 
Thornes were tested today by a good Ossett side but found themselves one up in the first half from a corner. Jack Hirst delivered a great cross for Eddie Hudson to stab it across the line at the far post. Good football from both sides continued in the second half but Eddie Hudson showed clinical finishing when he broke through the heart of the Ossett defense to beat there keeper. It was not long before Eddie once again fired his 3rd of the game. The fourth came from great play by Eddie Hudson on the right hand side to fire a ball into the penalty area for Isaac Parsons to side foot it into the goal. Then Theo Watling rounded it off with a thunder bolt that crashed into the back of the net. Kieran Johnson & Sam Harrison bossed the rear guard with determination and desire. Whilst Densil Uka and Lamin Drammeh kept clean sheets in each half of the game. A fantastic end to the season for a team who thoroughly deserve to be double cup winners.
